What’s happening in Myanmar?

Aung Myo Min, the Human Rights Minister in the National Unity Government of Myanmar, lives in exile but plays a key role in the democratic resistance. He is in New Zealand and we are lucky to have time with him to hear his testimony on the oppression facing his country.

The military coup three years ago shut down a period of democratisation. Since then the regime has waged war on its own people with nearly 4800 civilians dead, mass human rights abuses etc. Over the last 6 months or so the ethnic resistance organisations coordinating with the Peoples Defence Forces have had a string of military successes and now control 43% of the country. The regime is looking increasingly shaky.

We are pleased to be able to offer this opportunity to meet a person from the front line of the democratic resistance to one of the world’s most brutal military dictatorships.

This event will be 'in person'. Please register if you plan to attend.
