Unfinished Business - What the Fifth Labour Government did not do and should be done by the Sixth.

The Clark-Cullen government was a modernising administration which aimed to reverse some of the most extreme (neoliberal) policies of the Lange-Douglas government. But it did not deal with all of them – especially its macroeconomic, distributional and industrial policy.

More fundamentally it did not have an alternative vision to the neoliberalism which still pervades so much of our thinking. So what is the alternative and what has to be done.

Brian Easton is one of New Zealand's foremost economists and economic commentators. He is a prolific author,   and economic historian. His ideas are always interesting.
