Oxfam have again released their report on Inequality to the 2019 Davos Conference. They continue to find immense wealth captured by the few and inequality rising still, the unrelenting outcome of global economic practice. Oxfam’s Reducing Inequality Index, has become a tool in the effort to change global outcome. How goes the fight?

 

Dr Jo Spratt is Advocacy and Campaigns Director, Oxfam New Zealand. Her doctorate focused on how aid policy changes.

 

Jo has also been an NGO advocate, manager and capacity-developer working in the Pacific. She is interested in global health, NGOs, and the practice of development and aid’s role in this. She is also a Registered Nurse. She joined Oxfam in mid-2018, eager to use her experience to build a world without poverty. Jo also co-founded NZADDs, a voluntary network of New Zealand international development thinkers and doers.

 

Along with her doctorate, Jo has qualifications in political science, nursing, public health, and international development, and she has lived and worked in several Pacific Island Countries over the past fifteen years.
