Rebecca Macfie is a multi-award winning journalist and writer. She authored Tragedy at Pike River Mine: How and Why 29 Men Died and won the 2019 CLNZ/NZSA Writers’ Award for her biography of former CTU president Helen Kelly, which was published in May.

Mike Smith, former General Secretary of the Labour Party, long involved in the union movement and a significant observer of the times when Helen Kelly was rejuvenating the voice of working people, workplace safety and social justice.
