Local Body Fresh Candidate Debate

For the local body elections we are having a candidate debate where we will be introducing candidates who are early in their political careers but with many good years ahead of them.  This mix should entertain, inspire and fill ye with hope.

Standing for the Wellington City Council we have Tamatha Paul and Jenny Condie, for the Kapiti Coast District Council we have Asher Wilson-Goldman and for the Greater Wellington Regional Council we have Sam Somers, Victoria Rhodes-Carlin and Josh van Lier.  Our MC for the evening will be Dave Armstrong.

 

Tamatha Paul is a candidate for Wellington City Lambton Ward is the 2019 Victoria University of Wellington Students' Association President and its first wahine Maori president.

Dr Jenny Condie is a candidate for the Wellington City mayoralty and to be a northern ward councillor.  She is a mother of two and was a list candidate and tax spokesperson for The Opportunities Party in the 2017 election.

Asher Wilson-Goldman is standing for the Kāpiti Coast District Council as a Districtwide councillor. He works to connect community groups, local and central government in the outdoor recreation and active transport sectors.

Sam Somers is standing for the Greater Wellington Regional Council Wellington ward.  He is a public transport campaigner and a regular at the Newtown and Johnsonville markets.

Victoria Rhodes-Carlin is standing for the Greater Wellington Regional Council Wellington ward.  She is completing her degree at Victoria.

Dr Josh van Lier is standing for the Greater Wellington Regional Council Lower Hutt ward.  He is an aquatic scientist.
